Welcome to higgs.co.za.
This site is about some of the things I enjoy getting up to.
I hope that you will find something useful on this site.
linBMD is a tool to allow Linux users to assist with the FreeBMD project. It is written in Pascal and compiles on Linux and Windows (possibly on Mac too) using Freepascal and Lazarus. It is, of course, open source.
If you are a pascal programmer, then I recommend you take a look at Lazarus and Freepascal. More information about linBMD.
I have put up information about my ancestors from England and South Africa. A list of my ancestors is available in the genealogy section.
The main surnames in my research at the moment are HIGGS, GINGELL, BRADFIELD and PURDON. Of course, there are other 1820 settler surnames in my tree on the South African side of my family tree.
This information is a default report from Gramps. I must still edit it and make it integrate with the site properly.
If you are running Linux and enjoy genealogy then you are probably using Gramps to track your data. If not, I highly recommend you take a look at it.
Here you will find out a little bit more about my humble endeavours into the world of photography.
I have added some photo galleries to my photography page so please go and check them out.
Please feel free to contact me.
